Flash Media Interactive Server 3 (FMIS) extends and improves on the technology and application programming interface (API) provided by its older siblings, Flash Communication Server 1.5 and Flash Media Server 2. Among the many improvements that this new iteration of the server offers is support for AAC-encoded audio formats. You can use a variety of techniques to stream MP3 and AAC encoded audio files using FMIS. This article examines an application that uses a one-to-one streaming technique.
