This is the first in a new series of interviews with Influxis staff. Today we meet Curtis, a man of style and taste, a man of many talents, a man of Influxis…

What do you do at Influxis?
I do a lot of things – customer service engineer, team leader, and project manager.

So you have a variety of roles. What is your favorite thing about what you do?
The management aspects. I’ve known I wanted to do that. In playing basketball, I was a team captain. I wouldn’t say a natural born leader, but I like to talk with people and motivate people.

So how long have you been working with Influxis?
A little over 6 years now.

Any crazy stories to tell?
None that I can tell on the website. (laughs) Sometimes we go out with the co-workers or have a company party or something, it’s always fun.

Any major success stories from your time at Influxis?
Yeah, a bunch. As a company, a lot of the campaigns we’ve done have been really cool. More specifically, the Google Web Labs with the London Science Museum. We did a lot of innovative work on that one. A lot of hard work went into that. It took a lot of team effort to get that done.

Does that team work well together here?
Yeah, there’s a lot of camaraderie here. We’re not only co-workers, but friends as well. A lot of guys have been here a long time. We not only work together, but hang out outside of work too. And we all have a similar passion for doing cool stuff with streaming and interactivity.

What kind of things do you do when you hang out outside the office?
Play laser tag, golf, drink, just hang out, I don’t know. Nothing too crazy. Eat food… <laughs>

So you say you have a passionate team. What gets YOU out of bed in the morning to come to work?
The overall passion of everyone here, and the overall vision of the company to make people happy, and to do something bigger than ourselves with technology. I think it’s really cool.

Any words of wisdom?
No. I can’t think of any.

Any last words for the readers?
No. <laughs> Buy a plan! <laughs> I feel like I need something philosophical. Lot of pressure.
